2021 TRAINING COURSE
The five winning young African designers were invited to take part in masterclasses and training programs designed to equip them with the tools and knowledge they need to develop and perpetuate their brands. During their stay in Paris, they benefited from a day of masterclasses hosted by Balenciaga, aimed at immersing them in the world of fashion and arming them with the essential skills to make their brand flourish.
In addition, the winners had the opportunity to discover the Parisian and international fashion scene through a program of visits.
In addition, Balenciaga has committed to supporting each winner individually for six months as part of a mentoring program organized in partnership with AFUP. For its part, the eminent business school HEC will provide tailor-made training for each of the winners. Finally, the Jendaya platform has offered the African Designer of the Year 2021, chosen from among the five prizewinners, a one-year online sale of his or her collection, as well as a collaboration with a renowned streetwear brand.
