TRAINING COURSE 2024

The objective of Africa Fashion UP is to offer the laureates comprehensive support whose effects will be lasting. During their stay in Paris, the five young African designers are invited to participate in masterclasses whose objective is to provide them with the tools and knowledge necessary to develop and sustain a fashion brand.

In addition to these Masterclasses, the laureates benefit from a tour that immerses them in the world of Parisian and international fashion. In addition, they have access to commercial training provided by the prestigious HEC Paris management school and will be accompanied for 4 months by Balenciaga as part of a mentoring program organized with AFUP. Finally they will have the opportunity to exhibit and put on sale their collection at the Lafayette gallery.

 

THE PARIS ROUTE

From June 27th to July 1st, the laureates had the opportunity to participate in the following events:

  • Meeting and visit with the management team of the Maison Guerlain and Exhibition as well as a visit to 68, Avenue des Champs-Elysées

  • Private tour of the Galeries Lafayette Haussman, Masterclasses and meeting with the sales team: the Director of Customer Development and Operational Marketing and the International Sales Manager for Middle East, Africa & India, the Luxury Shopping & Creators PAP Woman and the Operational Marketing and Haussmann Events Manager.

  • Masterclasses with the management team of Balenciaga. Visit to the headquarters of Kering.

  • Round table and debate at HEC Paris, organized by the members of the board of the HEC International Development Club and HEC Paris.

  • Meeting with the team from Istituto Marangoni and visit to workshops

  • Round table and debate at the Ivory Coast embassy with HEC and Club HEC

  • Participation of the winners in the launch of the sale of the creators Africa Fashion Up at Galeries Lafayette.
